The News is up for another award of excellence

Local paper is assured of winning at least third place in the province

The Parksville Qualicum Beach News is up for yet another provincial award for general excellence this year.

The Parksville Qualicum Beach News is up for another B.C. and Yukon Community Newspapers award. The News is nominated in the BCYCNA’s general excellence category and is guaranteed a top three finish. The News has won the award two times before — first place in 2006 and again in 2010. The general excellence category rewards papers that demonstrate overall high quality — from its news coverage and photographs, to reproduction quality and calibre of advertising. The final placing will be announced April 14.
