TRUCK FIRE: Eight members of the Deep Bay Volunteer Fire Department attended a vehicle fire on Highway 19 just north of the Horne Lake exit on Wednesday afternoon. Chief George Lenz said the pick-up truck was fully engulfed by the time they got there and all they could do was put water on it to cool it off and let it burn. The vehicle was completely destroyed but nobody was injured. Lenz said there was no immediate indication of what caused the fire. Our thanks to reader Doug Dillen
