Bow-Horne-Bay firefighters mop up after a truck and house fire Wednesday morning in Qualicum Bay.

No one was injured in a serious house fire in Qualicum Bay Wednesday morning.

Around 9 a.m. a floor installer arrived at a house on Van Isle Rd. house where nobody was home during renovations.

He parked his pick-up under the overhanging roof of the one story house on the waterfront and about 10 minutes later the neighbour came running over yelling that his truck was on fire, explained Bow Horn Bay fire chief Steve Anderosov.

By the time the fire department arrived there were flames coming out of both ends of the roof and it took over an hour to bring it completely under control with considerable smoke and water damage apparent in much of the home.

The Dashwood Fire Department attended the scene for back-up.
