Former Parksville councillor Caroline Waters pulled out of the race for Parksville council this week for personal reasons.
Waters, a councillor from 2001 to 2005, experienced a family tragedy just before the deadline to submit nomination papers. She put her papers in but then decided her family issues were more important to her at this point than city council.
She said she will continue to work on city issues she is passionate about as a private citizen.
