Judging by the length of the line-up, the return of the  Bethlehem Walk has been a major success.

Families filed all around the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church, some waiting for hours to get into the much anticipated Christmas event.

"Thousands of people are coming out to enjoy it," said coordinator Gail Barbero, who has been tirelessly organizing the dynamic event.  "We've been working on the Bethlehem Walk since August, and it's been non-stop."

Barbero said more than 400 volunteers affiliated with the PFBC help make the fundraiser possible, including parking patrols, actors and actresses, choir singers and bakers and set builders to name a few.

The Bethlehem Walk takes guests back in time through biblical theatrical performances, a recreated village market, period costumes and live acting.  The popular event is free of charge, however donations and non-perishable goods are gladly welcomed with proceeds going to the Salvation Army. In 2011 the Bethlehem Walk raised more than $12,000 and heaps of food.

Tonight, Dec. 17, is your last chance to take part in the Bethlehem Walk. It is open from 6-8:30 p.m. The Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church is located at 550 Pym Street North.
