A woman downtown last weekend was determined to get arrested, and police eventually accommodated her request.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, officers came across an woman downtown Nov. 25 who was adamant that she wanted to be arrested.

Officers were unable to comply “as they were very busy keeping a lid on the hundreds of patrons spilling out of local night clubs, so her request was momentarily denied,” the release noted.

This didn’t sit well with the woman, so she allegedly decided to squirt water in the faces of the officers.

“Officers suddenly had a change of heart and conceded to her request,” noted the press release.

The woman – as well as a male companion who had urinated on a nearby wall – were both arrested for causing a disturbance and whisked off to the Nanaimo detachment cells for the remainder of the evening and were released in the morning.
