Work to improve Errington Community Park concession building now a priority

Sports court project set aside for concession building upgrades

The Errington Community Park concession building is in need of an upgrade.

The building was shut down by Island Health and improvements ordered before it could be used again for public events and activities.

Area F (Coombs, Hilliers, Errington, Whiskey Creek, Meadowood) director Leanne Salter made a motion to the Electoral Area Services Committee to recommend to the Regional District of Nanaimo board to make the work needed to upgrade the concession building be made a higher priority than the planned Errington Community Park Sport Court project.

The RDN board unanimously endorsed the recommendation.

The sports courts were scheduled to be completed in 2023 and Manager of Parks and Recreation it will now be prioritized to a later year.
