World Water Day activities here

Our most precious commodity to be celebrated

Local communities are encouraging people to get involved in United Nations World Water Day, to champion the right of people everywhere to affordable, safe drinking water.

The theme this year is “Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge.”

Gearing up for the international day, Parksville/Qualicum KAIROS is holding a rally tomorrow (March 19) in Qualicum Beach and on the actual day, Tuesday, March 22, Parksville is hosting a free screening of The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry?

In Qualicum Beach people will meet tomorrow (March 19) at the corner of Fern and Beach Streets at 1 p.m. to network with fellow residents and invited dignitaries.

For details, call 250-248-0310.

On Tuesday Parksville is screening the documentary The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry?

The film starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Parksville Community and Conference Centre, 132 East Jensen Avenue.
