Adriaan Willem (Do)
Of Parksville, BC, passed away on?November 7, 2007 at the age of 88 years.
Adriaan was born in Nijmegan, The Netherland on Feb. 3, 1919. After surviving five years of occupation he joined the Dutch army and was later sent to Indonesia where he served as an officer for four years.
In 1953 Adriaan emigrated to London, Ontario but soon joined the rest of his family in Edmonton, Alberta where he met and married his wife Erma of 50 years. They later had one daughter, Barbara Jean who predeceased in July 1982.
At age 41 Adriaan attended the University of Alberta to become a school teacher.
In 1980 the family moved to Victoria BC and then finally to Parksville BC where Adriaan enjoyed his retirement and many hobbies. On June 28, 2007 Adriaan and Erma celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with many friends and family.
