It is with considerable sadness and regret, that we announce the passing of Agnes

Naylor, after a courageous and dignified battle with the scourge that is cancer. Left to grieve her passing is her husband of 60 years, Glenn and her sons Rob (Lori), Bill (Kim), Mike (Dona), and daughter, Sue (Bryan). She also leaves her grandchildren Hayden, Roshene, Katie, Meg, Dani, Raymond, Matt, and Liam, and her great grandchild, Helena Rose, and her four sisters, Ellen (Art), Kay (Jim), Marge (Eric), and Doreen (Jim).

Aggie was born in Wall’s End, Newcastle, England and was sent to Canada as a five year old girl, along with four of her siblings, in the hopes of a better life. She was raised on a working farm outside of Duncan, BC, (Fairbridge Farm), and moved to Qualicum to marry Glenn in 1950. Together they raised their family in Qualicum and Parksville.

She was passionate about and fiercely protective of her family and considered them to be her life’s work. She faced her illness head on and without complaint or self-pity, her final unselfish act to us all. Your work is done, Mom. It’s up to us now.

A small and beautiful family gathering was held to celebrate and honor her life.

If you wish to remember Aggie with a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
