Mr. Alan Menzies, beloved husband of Mrs. Violet Menzies of Medicine Hat, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at the age of 75 years. Alan also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Lyle, James, and Carrie Menzies; and two grandchildren, Derek and Curtis Menzies. Alan was predeceased by his parents, William and Marie Menzies; one son, Dwayne Menzies; and two brothers, Neil and Barry Menzies. Alan was born and raised in Drumheller, Alberta, and worked in the coal mines in and around the area.
On March 1st, 1958 he married Violet Ripley in Drumheller and they moved to British Columbia where Alan worked in the logging industry. They spent the last 20 years on Vancouver Island and recently moved to Medicine Hat to be closer to their daughter.
A Private Family Time of Remembrance will be held. Memorial gifts in Alan’s memory may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation, 124, 430 – 6th Avenue SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2S8.
