September 19, 1940 - June 13, 2018
It is with incredible sadness we are announcing that on June 13, 2018 Rusty Kirkup passed away with his family by his side at the age of 77. He will forever be loved and remembered for his devotion to his family and friends, successful business and community ventures and his passions for fishing, hunting and gardening.
Born in Northern England, he arrived in Winnipeg on Canada Day 1967 with his wife and daughter. He immediately adored Canada and throughout his adventurous life, worked and fished in almost every province and territory.
Beloved husband of the love of his life, Vera, who was his world and to whom he was eternally devoted. Adoring of his daughters Melanie and Michelle, their husbands Andrew and Frank, grandchildren Christine, Frankie, Michael and Amanda and the new light who recently entered his life, great granddaughter Aurora.
Rusty had time for everyone and lived his life with a smile, a story and a pint. As per his wishes, no funeral service will be held. A get together of friends raised a glass in the Shady for him on June 16th and another will be raised in Stony Plain by family and friends.
Donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
