Alan Donald Edward Parker

April 14, 1921 – June 1, 2016

Al passed away suddenly at home in Qualicum Beach, BC. Born on the family farm in Chaplin, Saskatchewan he moved, at a young age to North Vancouver receiving his schooling at Sutherland and North Vancouver High School. Later as a young man, in 1952, joined the Air Force serving as a Leading Aircraftsman in Canada and France until 1964. During his tenure Alan enjoyed playing treble drum in the Air Force Marching Band in Trenton, Ontario. During his retirement on Vancouver Island, he became an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Qualicum Beach.

He is survived by step-daughter, Heather Karabellus and family, Kelowna, wife, Betty Hair, also extended family, Nancy Moir, Patti, Michael (Janis) and Gina Allan.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Nanaimo General Hospital. There will be no service at his request. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation

or the Cancer Society.
