In loving memory ~

Gerry passed away in Qualicum Beach at 99, with family by his side. He is survived by his wife Ruth, daughters Karen and Christine (Ron), son Craig, and grandchildren Kyle, Eileen, Carling, and great-grandson Jacob. Son Brian predeceased him. Gerry was honest, compassionate, and deeply loved. Born in West Vancouver, he pursued education with tenacity, earning a degree from UBC and later becoming a respected principal. Ever curious, he studied schools abroad to improve his practice. A gifted athlete, Gerry excelled in table tennis, ranking #2 in Canada in 1954. He also sang, acted, gardened, and co-founded Schoolworks, a family business. In retirement, he remained active—playing tennis, bridge, and engaging in climate advocacy. Even at 99, he was learning to play piano. Gerry's enduring love, wit, and energy enriched all who knew him.

"And now abide faith, hope, love... but the greatest of these is love."
