Jack McCaskill was born on January 9, 1917 and died peacefully, in his 98th year, on August 13, 2014 in Edmonton.
Jack grew up in Calgary and was educated at the U of A in Edmonton, Alberta and at OU in Norman, Oklahoma. He was a petroleum engineer who served in the Royal Canadian Corps of Engineers during WWII and who was a pioneer in the development of the oil and gas industry in Western Canada and in North Africa. Jack was a true gentleman, active in his community, his church, and the interests of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed many years of retirement in Qualicum Beach, B.C., where he served on municipal council. His was a life well-lived.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Kay, in 2010.
He will be lovingly remembered by their four children: Marlene Pozin (Mike); Bob McCaskill (Linnea);
Anne Pellatt (Peter); and Brian McCaskill (Pat); eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on August 16th, 2014 at Riverbend United Church in Edmonton.
