ROSS, Alice Mary (Dolly)
August 16, 1922 ~ November 8, 2007
Alice was predeceased by her father, George, her mother Ann, her brothers James and Leslie, her sisters Vernice and Margaret and her nephew Stewart. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren and her dear friend Peter. She worked for many years as a telegraph operator for CPR and after that as a dental receptionist for Dr. McShane. She was active in the Nanaimo Business and Professional Women’s Club in the earlier days of her working career. With the help of her good friend Elaine Duncan and the other members of the Nanoose Bay Weavers’ Guild she became an accomplished weaver.
She embraced technology and volunteered with the Parksville / Qualicum MacIntosh Users Group. She loved to travel making trips to Russia, China, Japan, South-East Asia, the British Isles, Europe and Cuba. She was the last of her generation of the Rosstown Rosses. She will be missed.
