Alma Grace Gray, at the grand age of 100, died suddenly but peacefully at Trillium Lodge in Parksville on December 16th.
Alma was born in 1908 in Vancouver and grew up on Vancouver Island with sister Edna and brothers Tommy & Harold. Alma lived in Cumberland for many years where daughters Marilyn, Beryl (Buddy) & Sandra spent their childhood.
Alma worked for BC Tel and retired in 1973 after 35 years. She was active in the Eastern Star, traveled the world by cruise ship, crocheted intricate tablecloths, was a woman of letters and an amazing story teller, loved teddy bears and chocolate.
Survived by daughter Sandra Carvil, son-in-laws Doug Stewart & Ray Walker. Lovingly remembered by 8 grandchildren. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Alma will be sadly missed by all whose life she touched. Special thanks to Trillium Lodge and Dr. Desai for their kind care.
A memorial tea will be held at a date to be announced.
