Amy passed away peacefully at Echo Village on August 17, 2010.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leif, in 1999, and by her brothers Douglas, Arthur and Angus Ketchen.  Amy is survived by her children, Linda (Rick Williamson ), Randall (Diana), and Elaine and by her sister Audrey Krueger.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Steven DeVito (Andrea), Kristin Brown, Jana DeVito (John Paul Penny), Jennifer Erickson, Marcia Stoper (Trent), Jordan, Jessica, and Jamie-Lee Erickson as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 Amy was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan and came to the West Coast during World War Two.  She met Leif and they married in Vancouver in 1947.  Long time residents of Hilliers and Qualicum Beach, Amy and Leif enjoyed their garden, meeting friends at the beach and spending time with family.  Amy also enjoyed curling, golfing, water color painting and working at Ethel’s Ladies Wear.  She was revered as a “master baker” by her children, grandchildren and friends.

For the past five years Amy lived at Echo Village in Port Alberni.  Her family would like to thank the staff for their loving compassionate care. 

A Hymn Sing and Celebration of Amy’s life will take place on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Echo Village.
