Andrea passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 1, 2020 at Stanford Seniors Village. Andrea was born on October 23, 1930 in the town of Noordwijk in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1954 just days after getting married to the love of her life, Nick.
They settled and stayed in the Parksville-Qualicum area and were always thankful for the opportunities that Canada provided for them and their children.
In her own quiet way, Andrea was a leader in the community. She spent many happy hours volunteering at her church, in local schools, at Girl Guides, and with Tai Chi.
Andrea also excelled at creating a warm and welcoming home for family and friends. She was an accomplished artist, gardener, knitter, seamstress, and loved to cook. Andrea is predeceased by her husband Nick and their son Ted.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many family and friends. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the care Andrea received from the kind and thoughtful staff at Stanford.
