After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2017, Andree passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side on March 24th, 2018, at the age of 70.
Andree is predeceased by her loving husband, John Laughland, and her parents, John and Germaine Robertson.
She is survived by her son, Jamie (Jennifer); her daughter, Michelle (Brent); and her step-son, Jeff (Christine); and by her amazing grandchildren, Lucas, Sarah, Kyle, Kennedy, Kylie and Jaden. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline; her sister, Nicole (Billy); and her brother, Ian (Louise), and many nieces and nephews.
Andree started her career as a travel agent with Vagabond Travel in Qualicum, where she worked for many years. This is where her taste for travel grew. After marrying John in 1992, they purchased Dolphin Travel in Parksville and continued to fulfill their dreams of exploring the world. In 1998, she decided to change careers and start a new endeavor with her sister, Jacqueline. Together they opened a neighbourhood coffee shop, Cha Cha Java, which they owned and operated for 10 years, loving every minute of it. Andree retired in 2008.
Her fondest memories were those spent with her family. She absolutely loved her children and grandchildren, and she was happiest when she was with them. As a young mother, Andree would take her kids all over the world, and she was excited to do the same with her grandchildren upon their graduation from high school.
Andree lived her life with style and zest. She had a vibrant smile and saw the positive of every situation and person she encountered on her journey through her life.
A Celebration of Andree's Life will be held at Yates Memorial Services on Thursday, March 29th, 2018, at 1:30 pm.
