She and her husband, Jack lived on the Island for 16 years, before returning to the mainland in July 2015 to be closer to their children, Susan (Juergen), David (Kristy) and Derek (Sunny) and her six grandchildren.
A consummate gardener, Anne had inherited her mother Dorothy's green thumb and whenever Anne was missing she could always be found puttering about in her lovely gardens.
While on the Island Anne was an enthusiastic, energetic member of Oceanside Grandmothers to Grandmothers, never missing a meeting and contributing her beautifully woven and knitted products for sale at the annual Extravaganza. She was also a member of the weavers guild and all of her family delight in the lovely gifts she made for us.
Before moving to the Island she and Jack were "snowbirds", heading to Yuma for many years in their various RV's. On the Island they joined an RV group and thoroughly enjoyed the company of that group at their monthly get-togethers while exploring many campgrounds up and down the Island.
Anne will be sadly missed by all of her family, her nephews, niece, their families and her sister, Valerie van Meel.
