October 4, 1921 - September 1, 2022
On September 1, 2022 Anne Elizabeth Quaade passed away at home peacefully at age 100.
Born October 4th, 1921 in Brandon MB, Annie grew up with her 2 sisters and 5 brothers. A devoted wife and mother Anne raised her 3 children with her husband William in North Vancouver, before finally settling in Parksville, BC.
Anne as she was known will be remembered as a fantastic cook, baker and phenomenal gardener who's green thumb could turn the smallest clipping and nurture it into a thriving plant without fail. After her husband's stroke Anne became a fixture in the stroke recovery associations of both North Vancouver and later in Parksville where she remained a member after William's passing.
She continued to meet, volunteer and fundraise until the last years of her life. Anne was known as a fearless traveler, making annual road trip pilgrimages to Mexico for decades even after becoming William's tireless caregiver.
With a twinkle in her famous blue eyes Anne had a devilish sense of humor which fit perfectly with her love of playing crib, and voracious sweettooth.
Anne is survived by daughters Ingrid and Bonnie. She is also loved and remembered by her many grandchildren and schoolchildren. Sadly, Anne was proceeded by her husband William and son Peter.
Many thanks to the awesome caregivers VIHA Vancouver Island Health Authority and a special thanks to palliative care unit who eased her final months.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Oceanside Stroke Recovery Society.
