In loving memory ~
Anne Staite left us peacefully on July 7th, 2022 in Parksville BC, with her sons Tom and Gerry Staite (wife Georgina) by her side. She blessed us with her grace and smile for over 106 years, for this we are forever thankful.
Anne is survived by her two sons and their spouses, her 6 grandchildren (their spouses), her 10 great grandchildren (4 bonus great grandchildren) and one great great grandchild who Anne was excited to share her name with. They were 105 years apart but Anne loved to sing to her and watch her play any chance she could get.
Anne was born on April 21, 1916 and grew up in Alberta with her parents and her 8 brothers and sisters. Anne enjoyed to ski and skate and even played hockey at a young age.
She was married to Ernie Staite and they lived their early years in Trail BC where they raised their two boys, Anne enjoyed riding horses and ran the farm on her own while Ernie left for WWII. They moved around for a bit after this and then later retired in Kamloops BC where Anne and her husband enjoyed travelling, skiing, camping, fishing, golfing and making memories with their boys and their families. Later to move to Parksville BC for their final years to be closer to family.
Ernie passed away in 2010 and Anne eventually moved to her own little unit in Stanford Place. She met many new friends, including Norm. They formed a special bond and spent many hours talking, visiting and playing games during their stay at Stanford . Anne always had a smile on her face, loved family visits and was happy to enjoy a cup of tea and share her treats. She was a strong women who knew what she wanted, she enjoyed painting, shooting pool, playing bingo and was always reading the paper or a good love story.
Anne, (mom, grandma, nana, great grandma, great great nana.....) your spirit will forever and always be in our hearts, and your smile, hand squeeze and hugs will never be forgotten. You shared so much wisdom, advice and stories with everyone you met you were a true gift, always reminding us of the "precious present" ~ we love you
In honor of Anne Staite she will be remembered next to her husband Ernie Staite at Yates Memorial Services in Parksville BC.
