March 7, 2007

AUSSEM, Antony (Tony) Errol

Late in the evening on February 23, 2007,Tony slipped quietly from this life to the next.

Born in Malaya on April 14, 1037, Tony began his lifelong love affair with fishing on the banks of jungle streams. Along with his two brothers, Peter and Richard, he was trained as a young teenager to bear arms in defence of his home and country during the years of the Communist uprising in Malaya. This experience gave him an inner strength and maturity far beyond his years. Coming to Canada with his family in 1952, Tony embraced and grabbed life with both hands. From flying to fishing, from drag racing to surfing and hiking, Tony’s life was full. His love of all creatures, great and small, was the core of his gentle nature.

Tony wanted no memorial service but his wife, Diane, asks that you honour his life by cherishing those whom you love.
