It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Archie Gordon McWilliams on Thursday, August 28 in Nanaimo. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 65 years, Dorris (Doe); daughters, Gaye (Brian) Stewart of Annandale, Virginia, Diane Estes of Camden Park California, and Wendy McWilliams of Bowen Island, British Columbia; grandchildren, Kyle, Emily, Caroline, Kimberley, and Bradley; great grandchildren, Lyla and Cole; sister, Rose Mckenzie; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Armstrong and Keith Blanche. Archie was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Vern & Clayton; and sisters, Doris & Isabel.
Arch was born and raised on the family farm in Holdfast, Saskatchewan. He began his career at the Regina Royal Bank of Canada. In 1949, he married Doris Mesinchuck. Arch joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1952 and served for 5 years. He was a hardworking man whose life took many turns between Canada and the States pursuing sales and construction work as a licensed contractor. Arch retired to Vancouver Island in 1999 with his wife Doe. An outdoorsman, Arch loved hunting, golf, and his dog “Buddy”. He was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch# 49.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, September 5th St. Anne’s St.Edmund’s Anglican Church, 407 Wembley Road in Parksville, BC.
