Arthur Henry Hamm
June, 5 1935 – December 31, 2016
Art passed away peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by his wife of 53 years Bev, and nephews, Rick (Tish) and Bob (Alison). He is survived by his sister-in-law, Erna Hamm; fifteen nieces and nephews; twenty-three greats; and sixteen great greats!
Art served in the RCMP from 1957 to 1984 and then in the newly created Canadian Security Intelligence Service from 1984 until his retirement in 1992. He and Bev were avid travelers, living or visiting in countries throughout the world. Art had many interests and passions. He was particularly proud of becoming a pilot and was also an accomplished photographer, woodworker, boater and camper.
Our special thanks to the caring EMS and emergency room staff at NRGH who, while working at overcapacity, made Art comfortable while also caring for the needs of his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Art’s honour at 1:30 pm in the Conservatory, upper level of the Craig Bay Beach Club, on
Friday, January 6th 2017.
Donations In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring Art by making a donation in his memory to the Salvation Army, PO Box 1874, Parksville BC V9P 2H6 or the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation, 1200 Dufferin Crescent, Nanaimo, BC V9S 2B7.
