PARRY, Arthur Morley

Born on December 23, 1916 passed away peacefully on July 18, 2006.

Art was a man of dignity and integrity and was loved, respected and admired by his family and friends. Predeceased by his first wife, Nora, in 1971, he leaves his wife Barbara and family David and Beverly Parry, Nancy and Bruce Jackman, Don and Karen Parry, Suzanne and Rob Bowen, Michelle and Gordon van den Broek, as well as eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

During World War II, Art served in RCAF 162 Squadron. His career with Shell Canada spanned almost 50 years. Art was an Honorary Life Member of the British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC), President of the International Northwest Aviation Council (INAC), President of the Shell Retired Employees Association, Chairman of the Canadian Aeronautics Space Institute (CASI), President of the Quarter Century in Aviation Club and member of London Airport’s Golfing Society. He helped organize the first Air Show in Vancouver in 1962 and was involved for many years with the Abbotsford Air Show. A life long golfer, Art belonged to Seymour Golf and Country Club in North Vancouver for 36 years and then to Eaglecrest Golf Club in Qualicum Beach.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 138 West Hoy Lake Road in Qualicum Beach on Wednesday, July 26 at 1:30pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice Society, Richmond Pavilion, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria, BC, V8R 1J8.
