ROBINSON, Barbara Joan
August 23, l915 - August 3, 2006
It is with sadness we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara was born in Penzance, England and came to Canada in 1920 at the age of five. Her family moved to Clo-oose, a remote fishing village on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Later they moved to Port Alberni where she grew up, graduated, became a telephone operator and raised her family. Barbara and Len retired to Qualicum Beach where they enjoyed their years of fishing, golfing and travelling with their many friends. Her garden and flowers were her joy. Especially arranging the flowers for her home and for the Ladies 9 Hole Div. of the Qualicum Beach Golf Club.Â
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Ron Lyon, grand-daughter Kathryn Blas (Gordon), grandson Kim Ansley (Cindy), four great grandchildren, sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Leonard in 2005, son Douglas in 1968 and her sister Peggy Trotter in 1990.
Our family wishes to thank the nurses and all the caregivers at Eagle Park Care Facility who have been so thoughtful and caring for Mom during the past five years, especially during the last few months. Many thanks to the hospice ladies.
Family and friends are invited to an informal tea which will be held at the home of Ron and Nancy Lyon, 1365 Sunrise Dr., French Creek, Parksville on Sunday Aug. 13 from 2 - 4 PM.Â
