Barbara Lorraine Barrett

February 17, 1929 - October 22, 2019
The gods must be crazy - someone pushed the up button in the elevator to the clouds and Barb made it to the penthouse! It was a battle with cancer that finally ended her tenacious reign on earth but in the end she was at peace with coming to the end of the road. Barb leaves behind 1 son and 4 daughters - Patrick, Colleen (Rod) Meredith, Kathleen (Court) Smith, Kellie (Bob) Spence, Jacqueline (Scott) MacLeod, as well as 8 grandchildren Cory, Benjamin, Tyler, Kerri, Jodi, Caitlyn, Cale and Chelsea, 9 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Adrianne, Isabella, Charlee, Sophia, Kyra, Kennedy, Kody, Jordin, and Nanny's furry boys Angus and Buddy. She lived the best life she possibly could. The family is eternally grateful to the Lions Society Housing, the Thrifty's staff for caring, Mulberry Bush Books for filling her hours, Lefty's for adopting her, the Pharmasave crew for their dedicated care and the wonderful staff at Trillium Hospice in Parksville. Those we have missed, we're sorry, but thank you for loving Mom in your individual ways. Special thanks to Kevin, Rod & Warren and mostly Kathleen.
Barb's Tea will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the outdoor patio at Lefty's Restaurant 280 Island Hwy E, Parksville (Thrifty Foods complex) from 2 - 4 pm.
