It is with great sadness that we announce that Bernice Michaud, 90, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2013 at The Gardens in Qualicum Beach BC.
Bernice was born on July 11, 1922, the daughter of the late Oscar and Anna Field, and grew up in Rochester NY. After marrying Jacques Michaud of L’Isle Verte QC in 1948, they moved to Cornwall, ON where they raised a family and lived happily for 50 years, until Jacques’ passing in 1998.
Bernice relocated to Qualicum Beach in 2003 to be close to family. She is survived by her 4 children, Paul Michaud, Toronto, Marie (& Alf) Randall, Qualicum Beach, Louise Michaud, Calgary, and Jacques (& Janet) Michaud, Toronto; 3 grandchildren, Kristine (& Don) Couzens, Benjamin Randall, Stephen Randall; and 1 great granddaughter, Aedre Bernice Couzens.
Bernice was a loving wife and mother. She was also a passionate artist, pursuing freehand needlework, on and off loom weaving, oil painting, watercolours and pottery.
Bernice will be missed greatly by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Road, Parksville BC on Thursday, July 18th, 11am.
