Beryl passed away Thursday, May 9 at Mariposa Gardens care facility in Osoyoos, B.C . following a lengthy illness. Beryl was predeceased by her husband Ted in 1996. She is survived by her sister June in England, sons Peter (Karren) and Stuart (Sheila) as well as grandchildren Amanda, Connor, Caitlin and several great grandchildren.
Beryl and Ted and family immigrated from the U.K. in 1957, residing in Calgary until 1990. After retirement in 1990 they moved to Hope B.C. After Ted's passing Beryl moved to Qualicum Beach. Shortly after arriving there Beryl established a small dog and cat sitting business and her services were in great demand. This also provided opportunities to acquire new friends among her clients and with fellow dog walkers.
Before her illness, Beryl was actively involved in the Anglican church, the hospice society and various choirs. She loved singing and played her organ and mandolin enthusiastically. She also loved to dance and travel and indulged both by cruising her way around the world.
A small private remembrance service will be held after which Beryl will be reunited with her beloved Ted at the Legion cemetery in Hope, B.C. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Mariposa Gardens for the care and attention given to Mom during her stay there.
