ROY, BESS
August 7, 1923 - January 3, 2010
With the greatest of sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully while in Nanaimo hospital January 3, 2010.
Bess emigrated from Scotland in 1952 to Ocean Falls, where she worked for Crown Zellerbach and the Ocean Falls Corporation (paper mill) as paymaster. Bess and late husband James (1921-1996) retired to the Parksville/Qualicum area in 1981.
Bess was known for her sense of humour and loved entertaining family and friends. (She always had cheese and crackers on hand!) She enjoyed solving cryptic crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She had a generous nature and contributed to numerous charitable organizations.
Bess will be sadly missed by daughter Lynda, son Stephen, granddaughter Shelley, grandchildren Dan and Paula, their mother Greta (Glen), great-granddaughter Taylor and a host of good friends.
We are honouring Bess’s request that no funeral service be held — only good memories.
We miss you, Mom.
