BETTY BURNS
It is with great sadness that we announce
the passing of Betty Burns. Betty passed
away peacefully on May 23 at Eagle Park
Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach, BC.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Bob; her sister Margaret; her brother George (Greta) and his family; her nieces Monica, Tierney and Sadie Rose in Vancouver; and her nieces in England.
Born with a nurturing nature, it was no surprise that she took to a career in nursing, where she practiced in both her native England and in Vancouver, British Columbia. Upon retiring, she spent 25 years volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society as well as assisting with many church and community events.
At a memorial service held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 30, family, friends, neighbours and congregation members all spoke of Betty’s quiet, gentle and caring nature, her faith and her love of baking and gardening. Betty’s beautiful spirit will be missed by all that knew her.
After a two year struggle,
Betty is now at peace and
in the arms of Our Lord.
Bob would like to thank Dr. P. Bartlett and the staff at Eagle Park Health Care Facility for their excellent care.
Those wishing may make a donation in her name to the BC Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC V6H 2K2
