Betty Grace Ewart (nee Findlater), 89, passed away peacefully March 17th, 2018 after a short hospital stay, her loving family at her side.
Betty was born January 28, 1929 in Camrose, Alberta. She provided a lifetime of care as a dedicated Registered Nurse in Penticton where she raised her four children. After joining Woodwards as a store nurse, she transferred to Nanaimo and settled in Parksville for 33 years.
She enjoyed life on the coast with walks on the beach, tai chi, genealogy research and stayed in touch with friends near and far. In her later years, she moved to Parkwood Manor in Coquitlam to be closer to family.
Predeceased by her parents, Alice and James Findlater, and sister Avis, Betty leaves behind her children Susan, Jim (Robbin), Janet (Richard) and Barry; grandchildren Adrienne (Matt), Samantha (Evan), Andrew (Melodie), Sean and Daniel; great grandson Elliot; cousin Marj Erickson and niece Shelly.
The family extends its appreciation to the health care professionals at Eagle Ridge Hospital and the staff at Parkwood Manor for their supportive care and attention.
Betty will be forever remembered for her unwavering love of family, her loyalty to friends and her dry wit that made us all smile.
A Memorial service will be held on April 14, 2018 at 1:30 at First Memorial Burkeview Chapel in Port Coquitlam for family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will also be held for Betty and her sister Avis, who passed last year, in Camrose in late summer where the Findlater sisters will be interred with their parents.
