Betty Millar Stewart

Betty Millar Stewart passed, peacefully in her sleep, at Arrowsmith Lodge January 5th, 2013.

Betty is survived by her sister Hazel, her two children Bryden (Marlene) and Marea (Adam), eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Ernest Charles, brother William and sisters; Janet, Zandra and Ria.

Betty was born and raised in Merritt B.C. Betty obtained her teaching certificate and started her teaching career in Copper Mountain, B.C. She and Ernie moved to Victoria when Ernie returned from WW II.

Betty and Ernie started their family in Victoria. In 1952 Betty returned to teaching at Gordon Head Elementary, then Oaklands Elementary before moving to Oak Bay Junior High, where she retired in 1982.

Betty enjoyed her teaching career and will be remembered by the many students she successfully took to the Victoria Dance Festivals.

There will be no service by request.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Carey Sulz and the staff at Arrowsmith Lodge for the loving and compassionate care they provided.

In lieu of cards or flowers, donations to the Arrowsmith HealthCare Foundation Society of Parksville, B.C.
