Parksville, BC — Robert (Bob) Jackson Mann a long-time resident of Parksville, passed away September 18, 2012 at the age of 91.

Born April 11, 1921 in Edmonton, Bob served in the RCAF during WWII. He met and married the love of his life, Joan, in England in 1945 and they raised four children. Bob worked for 25 years for Canadian Liquid Air, and then operated a bulk oil plant before retiring to Parksville to fish. A quintessential outdoorsman, Bob loved to camp, fish, garden and ride his bike.

Predeceased by his six siblings and wife, Bob is remembered by his children Robin (Alana), Ken (Li Kuan), Pat (Keith) and Shelley, as well as ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Father, grandfather, or uncle, Bob taught us all how to catch a fish, start a campfire, and have the best garden on the block. Bob told great stories and always beat everyone at crib. He lived a good life and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank his neighbours, friends and care team, whose help allowed him to stay in his own home, for as long as possible.

A celebration of his life was held, Sunday, September 23 at 2:00 pm at Pat’s house. 1238 Mason Avenue, Comox. 250-941-4490. Please join us for tea to share memories of Bob’s full life with all who knew him.
