Only child of George and Mary Abernethy. Married Eric in 1948, children Anne Cameron, Ken Winch and Patricia Harrison. Grandchildren Michael Harrison and Stephen Harrison (Flora Pagan). Sons-in-law Don Cameron and Robert Harrison.
Born and grew up in Parksville, attended nursing school in Vancouver. Bobby was a public health nurse in the Kootenays and Vancouver Island. She and Eric lived for a short time in Courtenay, before returning to Parksville.
Bobby spent the majority of her life in Parksville. Travelling the world and RVing were an important part of her life. She also enjoyed bridge, golf, and was involved in the SOS in the early days, and was a member of the Eastern Star. Animals, especially cats were an important part of her life. She spent the last few years in a retirement home in Victoria to be near her remaining children. Predeceased by her husband and eldest daughter.
