The family of Brad Russell is deeply saddened by his sudden, tragic passing. A man’s body filled with the play of a child, curiosity of a thousand children, creativity that soared and a spirit that knew no earthly bounds. Brad’s need to live, love and question the meaning of life was enormous. A watcher, a mimic of character, a catalyst for peace and harmony, Brad endeared himself to all he met. His sudden departure from us was far too soon at the tender age of 54. Brad passed away whilst doing something he loved. Surrounded by members of his family, playing outside with children and laughing and teasing and loving. If only the words could come as easy as Brad’s smile. He will be forever missed. Brad is survived by his bereft family; loving wife and best friend Earn, children Sidney, Salareena and Satya; mother Betty Anne; siblings Bill (Judy), Brian (Tanya), Bevanne (Ollie) Paivinen, Aaron (Dorothy) Long; nephews Andrew, Matthew (Anna), Jonathan (Nikki); nieces Eara, Aislynn, Kenna and numerous other relatives throughout B.C. and Alberta. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all first responders, RCMP, victim services and especially the exceptional staff at GR Baker Hospital for all of their help and compassion during this difficult time.
