BRYDEN ALEXANDER STEWART

June 7, 1946 –

May 14, 2013

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryden on May 14, 2013. He leaves to mourn and honour his memory, Marlene, his wife of 46 years. He was a loving father to, David Stewart Victoria, BC, Andrea Squire (Mike) Parksville, BC, Nathan Stewart (Robin), Sooke, BC, and Taryn Drlik (Mark) Victoria, BC and was a cherished grandfather “Grumps” to his seven grandchildren. Also left to mourn, is his sister Marea Vrooman (Adam) and family in Vancouver, extended family and his many good friends. Bryden was born and raised in Victoria, BC, and enjoyed a long and successful career with the Bank of Nova Scotia, retiring in 2006 as Branch Manager of Parksville. He was an active member of District 69 Benevolent Society serving as President for many years. He was mechanically creative, a jack of all trades, and spent many hours in the garage working on his seemingly endless projects. He was happiest boating with friends, bumping along in his bobcat or reading a good book. Bryden has touched the lives of many with his compassion, generosity and willingness to offer a helping hand. He will forever be in our hearts and thoughts “A true gentleman”.

Deepest appreciation and thanks to the compassionate staff at the Palliate Care Unit at NRGH.
