Myers, Calvin Herman
November 18, 1926 – November 30, 2014
Calvin passed away in Nanaimo on Sunday.
He was predeceased by his life partner of over 50 years, Ruby Solberg; parents, Axel and Emma Myers; and his brothers, Mervin, Ronnie, Ralph, and Harvey.
Calvin leaves behind his sister, Shirley (Ivan) Mieras, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Alert Bay, BC, Calvin spent most of his life on the water. He began as a merchant marine during WWII, then worked on oil tankers and tugboats, and ended his career working for BC Ferries. At 65, he took up sculpting, selling hundreds of pieces of art. He could be seen walking nearly every day in
Parksville.
