Carey Boreham

BOREHAM, Carey

(May 12, 1958 – December 10, 2009)

With family by her side, Carey succumbed to a short, courageous and valiantly fought battle with cancer. She is loved and will be forever missed by her husband of 25 years, Mark. With great sadness she will be sorely missed also by her sisters Bonnie (Ron) and Janice (Dave) and her brother Ridge(Rosemary). She was a cherished aunt to Nancy (Alex), Daena, Rob, Pat, Keith and Chloe, and adored by her great nephew Travis and great nieces Sydney and Kate. She was predeceased by her parents Bob and Pixie Wilson.

Carey was born in Vancouver and spent her childhood years in North Vancouver before moving to Abbotsford and then to Qualicum Beach. She pursued a career in nursing, the majority of which was in public health both in Abbotsford and on Vancouver Island. Her generous and caring nature was enjoyed by so many through her profession.

The family is grateful to Dr. John Carr, the Cancer Agency in Victoria and the staff at Nanaimo General Hospital for making Carey as comfortable as possible. Always thinking of others, her ultimate wish was that someone might benefit by her donation of sight through the Eye Bank.

Please join us on January 9, 2010 between 2:00 and 4:00 at Carey’s and Mark’s home to share memories and celebrate Carey’s life.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to causes dear to Carey’s heart - The Canadian Cancer Society, your local Food Bank, or your local SPCA - would be greatly appreciated.
