Anderson, Carl
Carl peacefully passed away on June 28, 2007. Carl was born August 24, 1932 on the family farm at Kandahar, Saskatchewan.
He was the tenth child of twelve children born to Tryggvi and Soffia Anderson. Carl was very proud of his Icelandic heritage.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Jenny, who cherishes the wonderful years they had together. Carl and his first wife Bertha are blessed with six children, Richard (Vicki) at Kerrobert, Sask., Donald (Laura) at Rocky Mountain House, Alta., Carla (Dan) Pitura, Airdrie, Alta., Robert (Chrisitie) at Outlook, Sask., Michael (Donna) at Kerrobert, Sask., Joel (Vanessa) at Fort McMurray, Alta. and sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Andres (Shirley) at Saskatoon, Sask., sisters Helga Howardson at Burnaby, BC, Inga Orpin (Walt Horsley) at Parksville BC, and Aldis (Ernie) Miller at Aggasiz, BC and sister-in-laws Rose Anderson at Rosthern, Sask., Ruth Anderson at Calgary, Alta., many nieces and nephews and his four step children, Michael Thurber, Karen Jensen, Heather Jespersen, Doug Schwartz and their children. Carl was predeceased by his father, Sigtryggur (1953), mother Soffia (1962) and brothers Bjorn (1980), Sigurdur (1998), Paul (1996), Arni (1996), Jon (1999) and sisters Lilja (2003), Gislena (2004).
Carl worked 37 years as a lineman and District Operator for Sask. Power and after retirement in 1993 he worked line contracting all over the Province for a couple of years. March 1996, Carl moved to Vancouver Island and in 1997 Carl and Jenny bought a house in Coombs, BC where they enjoyed ten years of country living and some wonderful cruise vacations and holidays back to Saskatchewan and Alberta. Carl loved his visits from family and friends and enjoyed keeping in touch by telephone. His sense of humor was a joy to all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at Kandahar, Saskatchewan on July 28, 2007 at 2:00pm for family and friends
