SURRY, Cecil George

Born in Saskatoon 1915, and passed away on December 14, 2004 at NRGH. Predeceased by his wife Lucille in 1987. Survived by daughter Iris (John) of Parksville; sons Ed (Shirley) and Bill (Judi) of Port Alberni. He had two brothers: Dave (Toots) of Vermillion, Alta and Ben (Olga), Edmonton: sisters Ann (Jim) of Chilliwack, Marie (Len) of Vancouver and Beatrice of Burbank, Calif. Five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Cecil was a decorated veteran from WWII and was a member of RCL for 58 years. He came to BC in 1949 and worked at Tahsis in Port Alberni until it closed, than went to Mc/Blo pulp mill as a millwright until he retired in 1980. He enjoyed bowling, curling and square dancing.

He worked hard and played hard, enjoying life. He moved to Parksville in 1996. He loved his life here and made many friends. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A service was held at the Chapel of Memories in Port Alberni.
