Charles Barrie Wilford

Passed away peacefully holding his sweetheart’s hand on July 31, 2017 in Qualicum Beach, BC.
He was predeceased by Aline Blais (d. January 1, 2005), the mother of his 4 children and by his youngest son, Michael George Arthur Wilford (d. November 6, 2006).
Barrie was born on February 20, 1932 in Winnipeg, the youngest of 7 children. Always known for his smile and love of life. Barrie raised his 4 children on his own and left quite an impression on everyone he encountered. In his early 50’s he retired from a long career in the Armed Forces and continued to contemplate life on his daily walks on the beach. Shortly after retiring, he attended a school reunion in Winnipeg and was reacquainted with Flo Peel, the ‘prettiest girl in kindergarten’ and with whom he shared the last 30 years of his life.
He is survived by his children, Danielle (Mark), Glen (Monique), and Nicole, his grandchildren, Kyle (Melissa), Jenna (Brad), Kaylie, Sarah, Keni and Alex and his only great grandchild, Jazzy.
He is also survived by his love, Flo Peel and her children Rob (Kris), Mark (Melinda), Mike and Danny, their children and grandchildren.
There will not be a service at Barrie’s request.
A private celebration of his life will be held
by his family, on the beach, which he loved.
