Charles Barrie Dean BRUNDAGE

It is with great sadness that my friend, my sweetheart and my husband of 60 years passed away April 15, 2016 at the age of 81. His sudden and unexpected death has left us devastated.

Charles “Barrie” Dean Brundage was born in Deep Cove and was preceded by his parents, Alice and Charles Brundage, his much loved son, Charles Ian in 2001. He is survived by his wife Joan, his brother Michael and his sister Ruth. In addition, he has many nieces and nephews on the mainland, the Cariboo and Vancouver Island.

Barrie spent most of his working career as a statistician for Westcoast Energy Transmission, which is now known as Spectra Energy. He enjoyed his many years with Westcoast and the friends he made there. After early retirement, he spent 4 years in the Sheriff’s Dept of the Provincial Supreme Court in the jury area.

In November 1995 we moved to Qualicum Beach and while we have always missed our home in North Vancouver, it has been a pleasant place to retire. Barrie was quite active in the COPS organization for several years and was a member of Probus in Qualicum Beach. He spent many happy hours puttering in his garden and he thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. His wonderful sense of humor, his kindness and his spontaneously breaking out into song will be especially missed by all.

At Barrie’s request there will be no service. Please no flowers but you are welcome to donate to your favorite charity if you wish.

May the Lord guide him home

until we meet again!
