PENROWLEY, Clarence Bertram (Bert)

Of Parksville, BC, passed away in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on September 18, 2004 at the age of 86. Lovingly remembered by Ethelwyn (Wyn), his wife of 56 years, daughters Colleen (Pat Alambets) of Port Coquitlam BC, Sharon (Bob Talson) of Maple Ridge BC, sister Raymonde (Bob Milner) of Seba Beach Alta., and numerous nieces and nephews. Bert's sister Marie Wolpert predeceased him in 1972. Bert farmed for many years in the Banana Belt District of Marshall Sask. In 1959 the family moved to Surrey BC and four years later to Coquitlam BC. In 1989 Bert and Wyn moved to Parksville on Vancouver Island. Bert was an active member of the Dogwood Seniors' Centre in Coquitlam where he set up the woodworking shop, the Parksville Senior's Drop-in Centre where he was an avid snooker and pool player, the Parksville and Qualicum Lawn Bowling Clubs and the Parksville Woodworkers. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Memorial Chapel, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, BC. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Bert's memory. FIRST MEMORIAL FUNERAL SERVICES (754-8333) in care of arrangements.
