Clifford Theodore Vestby

July 7, 1923 – October 24, 2013

Cliff passed away on October 24, 2013 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Vi (Violet); children, Dennis, Rodney, Gene, Yvonne, Kevin, Derek, Brian, Kirby; stepchildren, Allen, Dolores, and Chris; 11 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and one step great grand child. Cliff also leaves to mourn his passing his sister, Gladys and many, many wonderful friends and extended family members. Cliff was predeceased by his first wife, Alice; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Ray.

Cliff was born in Kelliher, Saskatchewan to Elsie and Benny Vestby. He grew up on the family farm and eventually took over the running of the farm from his parents – a proud family who took great pride in their connection to the farmland and community.

Cliff liked to keep busy and was skilled in many trades: carpentry, mechanics, welding, construction, and metal work to name a few. He love to dance and spent many happy hours square dancing.

The family would like to extend a “Thank You” to the medical staff and Home Support workers for their kindness, care, and compassion during this difficult time. Special thanks goes out to Vi’s friends and neighbours for their help and thoughtfulness throughout Cliff’s illness and subsequent passing.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on

Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road In Parksville.
