It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colin Guy Francis on June 5, 2006.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Loreen, five step-children Donna (Ray) Watson, Saskatoon, Denise (Doug) Normand, Regina, Darlene Douglas, Delta, Don (Trudy) Francis, Saskatoon, Dave (Marcia) Francis, Moncton, eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his only brother, Eric, one niece, Megan, one nephew, Nigel, he leaves behind his sister-in-law Jean, England, his nieces Nicola and Claire, England, and nephews Glenn, California, Timothy, Germany, Jonathan and Kerryn, England. He also leaves behind other in-laws, Edna & Adam Deck, Regina, John Weber & Bev Janis, Kendal, Glenora Griffiths, Victoria, and their families, as well as many friends.

Colin was born on November 5, 1932 in Worchester, England, where he grew up. He attended Hanley Castle Grammar School in his early years, and considered that segment as the best years of his life. He apprenticed in the Machinist Trade at Wards in Worchester, then joined the R.A.F. and served in the Middle East. He immigrated to Canada in 1959 settling in the Regina area where he worked at various trades and careers. He took up residence in Alberta, BC, and Yukon at various times, and finally settled in Parksville, BC. His friendly manner and his “gift of the gab” will be sorrowfully missed by his many friends and colleagues.

By request following his cremation, there will be no service.

Flowers greatly declined in favour of donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
