CROOKS, William Patrick

Passed away peacefully on August 30, 2004 in his 83rd year at the Victoria General Hospital. Bill was predeceased by Elise his loving wife of 60 years in January 2003. He leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Patrick Forrest (Caroline) and William Gary (Margaret), seven grandchildren, Paul (Lyset), Mark (Carrie), Catherine (Yuri), Scott (Sheila), Marnie, Shannon, Sean and eight great-grandchildren. Bill was born in Vancouver, November 3, 1921, one of nine children of William and Esther Crook. Bill was a gentleman of few words with a warm smile and a quick sense of humor. He was a renowned forest industry executive/consultant for more than 40 years. Bill and Elise lived in many areas of BC as well as travelling to many exotic areas adjacent to the world's forests and jungles. Bill was an exceptional avid golfer having won many awards and trophies as evidence of his prowess on the fairways and greens. Bill and Elise moved to Fairwinds in Nanoose Bay in 1990 where he quickly became a golfing legend. Very special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Victoria General Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the exceptional care they provided Bill. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church at 2 p.m., Friday, September 3. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
