1928-2022  ~  It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Daisy Young (Keck) at the age of 93.
Born in Camrose, Alberta to Jessie and Henry Keck, Daisy grew up in Elk Point, the eldest of four children. She married her soul mate and the love of her life Leslie Young, and they enjoyed a near perfect marriage for 55 years until his passing.
Daisy is also predeceased by her brothers Doug and Barry, her children Christine and Damon, and her grandson Brandon Flock.
Her sister Trudi (Don) Stroud of Michigan remains to cherish her memory. Daisy attended the University of Alberta to pursue a career as an educator. Many Grade One students will remember Mrs. Young for her creative approach to learning.
Daisy was happiest hiking and walking amongst the trees or combing the beaches. She sailed and fished on their boat 'Recess' and welcomed many guests to the "Hot Sheets Hotel" when she and Les retired to "Paradise" in Parksville, BC.
She volunteered for many years with different organizations including The SOS in Parksville. We will all cherish her self-published books filled with stories and love letters that she wrote with humor, optimism, and love.
Daisy moved to Calgary a year after Les passed where she enjoyed many years of Pattern Dancing and new friends with her devoted companion Merv Clark. Her children Campbell, Celeste, Dena and their families wish to thank everyone for their love and support.
Interment will take place in Tofield later this Spring. Memorial donations can be made to the Brandon Flock Foundation or the Parksville and District SOS.
